    They connect two patch cords. Simple. There are a lot of unknown cords along the path -- likely Cat5 or less -- but I get better performance than expected. (800-900 Mbps) So, I can say with a high degree of certainty that these connectors don't degrade performance on a 1Gbps network.

    Solid built, good quality, works as expected. I bought these to help me extend a CAT5e cable far enough to hard wire my laptop. The data speed is steady and I can finally take office calls without Wifi drop outs.

    I use these to repair existing Cat5e Ethernet cables that have become damaged (usually mice chewing the cable) but its too difficult or costly to replace the entire cable run. Have only used 3 of them so far, two in a single POE CAT5e cable to an IP camera and the other a non POE CAT5e cable and both are working fine so far.

    Clean, stable, shielded CAT6 signal speed & quality, connecting CAT6 cable segments, assuming you are using quality cabling. Tested signal quality with cable tools to confirm. VERY pleased with these shielded couplers.
